Central Park is a marvelous place, it presents an ideal version of urban nature. Like the city around it, the park is a place that we designed for our own enjoyment. But, our urban environment is also home to a vast and dynamic population of animals who, instead of being pushed away, live and thrive around us. These are synanthropic animals.
We invite you to explore the perceptions and realities of nature in cities. Ultimately our paths will cross with one of the park's smartest tree dwelling residents, the Common Raccoon.
